Geldards Win Commercial Litigation Team Of The Year
The Dispute Resolution team at Geldards, celebrated in finest lockdown style after winning the award for Commercial Litigation team of the year at the 2020 Wales Legal Awards on Friday 11 September.
The award caps off a busy and successful period for the team having recently completed one of the largest and long-running disputes undertaken in Wales in recent years.
Now in its second year, the Wales Legal Awards celebrate the best talent in the legal profession in Wales and recognise the significance of the legal sector to the Welsh economy. Judges for the awards comprise a diverse range of highly experienced and peer-regarded individuals in their field including representatives from legal directories, legal publishers, the Law Society, as well as in-house legal counsel, barristers and solicitors practising across Wales. Due to current restrictions, the awards were announced via a studio live-stream broadcast on the evening while the finalists waited in a live-linked Zoom room..
In presenting the award to Geldards Litigation Team, Amandeep Gill, Senior Editor Thompson Reuters and a member of the judging panel, commented;

The high profile nature of their work has been recognised in recent years with cases listed in the top 20 litigation cases of the year in The Lawyer for two years running. The cases related to a legal challenge against the lawfulness of the decision to exit the European Union (2018), and the Servier competition litigation for the Welsh Government and NHS (2019).
