Matthew Williams

Matthew is a solicitor in the firm’s Cardiff office. Matthew joined the firm in September 2020 and has now qualified into the Commercial (public sector) team.

Matthew assists the team on all aspects of Public Law, Public Procurement, subsidy control and commercial contracts work. He works with a range of public sector bodies in England and Wales, including local authorities, governmental departments and non-governmental bodies. His experience includes advising clients on complex procurement issues, drafting procurement documents, advising on subsidy obligations and advising on matters of public law generally.

He also assists commercial clients by reviewing various commercial agreements, drafting contracts and providing commercial contract advice to private sector organisations.

Matthew graduated from the University of Exeter with a BA honours degree in Politics before converting to law via the GDL, and subsequently obtaining a distinction level LLM in Legal Practice (LPC) at Cardiff University in 2020.

Matthew is also a fluent Welsh speaker and is happy to converse with and assist clients through the medium of Welsh.
