Construction Disputes
Our experienced team of construction lawyers handle construction, infrastructure and engineering disputes, including delay claims, defects claims, payment claims and claims arising as a result of termination and/or insolvency.
We act for clients across the private, public and non-profit sectors including developers, public private partnerships, specialist contractors and public bodies in disputes relating to a wide range of construction contracts including JCT, NEC, IChemE, MIM, PFI and project agreements.
From the outset of a dispute we ensure that our client is in the strongest position possible; we have the expertise to quickly assess the potential risks and outcomes and then plan an appropriate strategy in line with our clients’ commercial interests. We then guide our client through the relevant process, whether this be adjudication, arbitration, litigation, mediation or some other form of alternative dispute resolution. Whatever the process, our dedicated lawyers assertively fight to protect our clients’ interests every step of the way. We also have experienced construction counsel on hand to assist where necessary.
Our team has vast experience of all methods of dispute resolution, including ‘smash and grab’ adjudications and true value adjudications. The Partner who heads up our Construction Team is a panel adjudicator himself, and so we understand the ‘adjudicator mindset’ and the challenges which adjudicators face generally during the process.
We also have particular experience in relation to fire, flood, insurance, geotechnical and ground related matters.
Related expertise include: Construction Contracts, Infrastructure, Planning & Environmental, Property Dispute Resolution, Public Sector Regeneration & Development.
