Geldards named most active legal M&A adviser in Wales

Experian’s Market IQ report has named Geldards as the most active law firm in the Mergers & Acquisitions sector in Wales during the first half of the year.  It’s been a busy 2024 for Geldards Corporate team in Wales, acting on high profile multi-million pound deals across different sectors.

Geldards’ specialist knowledge and M&A experience spans a range of sectors including healthcare, pharmaceuticals, food & drink, technology and finance. The team advises a broad range of clients from owner and family managed businesses, through to global corporate organisations, and venture capital/private equity investors.

Andrew Morris, Partner and Head of Corporate said:

“We are  delighted to have been named as Wales’ most active M&A legal adviser by Experian’s Market IQ. It is a reflection on the hard work put in by the team this year. We’re seeing an active market in 2024, in terms of volume and the high calibre deals and buyers in the market. We expect that to continue for the remainder of the year, particularly in the run up to the Autumn Budget.

We recently advised shareholders on the sale of Cwmbran-based XWatch Safety Solutions to Swiss company Leica Geosystems.  As well as advising the shareholders of Hazrem Environmental on its sale to Biffa.  Employee Ownership Trusts also continue to be popular and we were pleased to advise the Thomas Carroll Group on the acquisition of its share capital by a newly formed EOT – a significant transaction in the UK insurance market.”
