Paul is an experienced and practical dispute resolution lawyer, specialising in contractual disputes, substantial money claims, complex financial litigation, company disputes, product liability and engineering disputes, and regulatory matters principally focussed on health & safety and environmental issues. He provides advice to a wide range of business types from major international corporations to small and medium size businesses, public authorities and charities.

Paul’s working style is pragmatic, inclusive and open, with a focus on achieving his clients’ desired outcomes from litigation and dispute management and clients regard him as ‘part of their team’.

Paul joined Geldards in 2012, having worked previously in London and as a partner in several international and national law firms. He spent a few years outside the profession between 2008 and 2010, working as regional director for the CBI in the East Midlands.

Paul is chair of the Advisory Board to Nottingham Business School, chair of Broadway independent cinema in Nottingham’s Lace Market, and a longstanding trustee of environmental charity Clean Rivers Trust. He is chair of Nottingham Partners, a group of businesses that supports the work of the local inward investment agency Invest in Nottingham and a board member and past chair of Marketing Nottingham and Nottinghamshire Limited. Paul is a former High Sheriff of Nottinghamshire (2022/23).
